Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, in its continuous endeavour to empower educators and create a positive school environment, organized a CBSE Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on “Promoting Mental Health and Wellness among Students” on campus today.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) mandates Capacity Building Programmes with the aim of enhancing the professional competencies of teachers, keeping them abreast with the evolving pedagogical practices, and aligning their approach with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programme was facilitated by experienced CBSE resource persons, Ms. Ranjana Bhardwaj and Ms. Vega Sharma who shared valuable insights and strategies aimed at nurturing students' emotional and psychological well-being..
The resource persons elaborated on identifying early signs of emotional distress, building resilience, creating safe and inclusive classroom spaces and implementing mindful practices within the school environment. The interactive sessions also emphasized the importance of self-care among teachers and their role as first responders in ensuring student wellness.
The Director ,Mrs Reema Dewan applauded the initiative and stated, “Empowering teachers with the tools to support mental health is a critical step towards building a compassionate and empathetic learning environment.”
