“The sunshine of a happy heart can light up a thousand minds.”
Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, hosted CBSE Capacity Building Programmes (CBP) on Happy Classroom on August 29 and August 30, 2025, based on the theme “A Classroom is as Happy as a Teacher.”
Resource persons Ms. Sonia Sharma (Principal, The Mukat Trust International School, Rajpura) and Ms. Garima Bhardwaj (Northridge International School, Chandigarh),
Ms. Hema Punj, PGT, D A V Model School Sec15 Chandigarh
and Ms. Bharti Arora, TGT, PML S D Pub School Sect 32 Chandigarh
in their respective sessions highlighted that the essence of a Happy Classroom lies in the teacher’s emotional well-being.
Referring to Daniel Goleman’s view that “We have two minds—one that thinks and the other that feels,” they underlined the importance of self-awareness, reflection and self-regulation.
Through stories, videos, interactive activities and anecdotes, participants explored ways to cultivate positivity, resilience and mindful communication in their classrooms. Above all, the sessions reminded teachers to enjoy, smile, laugh and appreciate, as these simple habits create the happiest learning spaces.
The programmes concluded with a powerful takeaway: when teachers nurture their own happiness, they unlock the true joy of learning for their students.
