Janeesha Kaur Chawla, a student of class 12C, participated in the Sakura Science High School Programme under the Sakura Science Exchange Programme organised by JST ( Japan Science and Technology Agency ) for a week-long exchange programme in Tokyo, Japan; from June 15 to June 22. Highlights of the event included a lecture by mathematician Dr. Jin Akiyama, an interaction with the students at Omiya Kita High School, a visit to JAXA Tsukuba Space Centre to learn about the ongoing research in Japan’s Kibo ISS module, laboratory tours at the National Institute of Material Sciences, exploration of the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, as well as the Mathematical Experience Plaza at Tokyo University of Science, and a campus tour of the University of Tokyo. Other participant nations included Ukraine, Taiwan, and Malaysia. It was an overall enriching and educational experience.
