Delhi Public School, Chandigarh hosted its sixth edition of the annual event the Legal Conclave, Samvidhi, on 8th and 9th November, 2024.
The two-day event garnered a whopping participation of 87 teams from the tri-city schools as well as regional areas. Sh. Ashok Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Haryana Sports University, Rai, Sonepat, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Ms. Shipra Bansal, Chairperson of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) was the Guest of Honour on the opening day. Speaking about the event, the Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan in her address said that the Legal Conclave is an important platform for aspiring legal minds to be well acquainted with the legalities. She said that the event was not just an academic exercise but an opportunity to give exposure to children to assume leadership roles at the right age. Praising the participants for their outstanding performance in various events, she said that youth should be aware about their rights and duties so that they can become committed, law- abiding citizens.
The event with the aim to bring together students, legal experts, and practitioners explored the rapidly evolving landscape of law and justice. The conclave featured a series of engaging sessions, panel discussions, and keynote addresses from distinguished legal professionals and renowned academicians. The sixth edition of the legal fest included The Moot Court, Legal Entrepreneurship, War Committee, Street Play, Human Rights Convention and the Quiz which fostered teamwork and stimulated healthy competition among the students of classes IX to XII. The event witnessed a galaxy of experts who offered their tireless support and encouragement for judgment and appraisal.
On the concluding day, Mr. Raghubir Singh Bali, Member of Legislative assembly of Himachal Pradesh from Nagrota, Kangra, was the Chief Guest and Sh. Neeraj Nayar, Member of Legislative Assembly, Himachal Pradesh from Chamba, was the esteemed Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the school for providing such wonderful platforms that help to shape the character and personality of the students. He reiterated the significance of building a sound value system so that the students could become responsible citizens. It was an event pulsating with energy and cash prizes of over one lakh twenty thousand were rewarded to the winners in various events. The Overall Best School Trophy was won by BCM Arya Model Sen. Sec School, Model Town, Ludhiana. The event offered students a distinctive platform to interact with legal professionals, enhance their legal understanding, and engage in meaningful discussions, fully realizing its goal of fostering legal awareness and empowering students.
