Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm for students of classes IX and X. The day began with a vibrant assembly, where the principal shared inspiring messages about the importance of children in shaping the future. Teachers then entertained the students by singing songs, adding a festive touch to the occasion. Fun activities such as games and group performances kept everyone engaged. To top it off, chocolates were distributed to all students, leaving everyone with a sweet memory of the day. The entire day was filled with laughter, learning, and a sense of togetherness, making it a memorable experience for the students.
Classes IX & X students visited Alliance Française de Chandigarh
DPS Chandigarh’s Class 9 & 10 students learning French visited Alliance Française de Chandigarh on 12&13 November for an immersive experience as a part of Novembre Numérique. They explored French landmarks through AR/VR, played interactive games, and learned about higher studies abroad. The visit inspired students with cutting-edge technology and cultural insights.
Pre- Primary Wing celebrated Children’s Day
The Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated Children’s Day with great elation and delight. The children were apprised about the importance of the day, which is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who believed that children are the future of the nation. No stone was left unturned to make the children feel special and on top of the world. Many games were organised for them which they really enjoyed. The class bore a colourful atmosphere as the children came dressed in their favourite clothes. All in all, it was a fun filled day for the little rockstars.
Pre Primary Wing celebrated ‘Gurupurab’
To celebrate the birthday of the founder of Sikhism, Gurupurab was celebrated by the children of the Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. Children were apprised of the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji. They also sang holy Shabads creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. They were motivated to incorporate the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji in their lives. The celebration concluded with the distribution of ‘prasad’ to the students ,staff and helpers thereby symbolising blessings and community spirit.
Class Prep II organised ‘Play Dough Activity’
The ocean is home to a vast array of fascinating sea animals. To engage the students in a creative and interactive learning experience and explore the most interesting and iconic sea creatures, highlighting their unique features and habitats, a ‘Play Dough Activity’ was organised for the students of Class Prep II, DPS Chandigarh. The theme of the activity was ‘Ocean Life’ wherein the students participated enthusiastically in crafting a variety of ocean animals like dolphin, octopus, starfish and whale etc using play dough. It was a perfect platform for the creative minds to meet their colourful interest. This funfilled activity helped the students understand the mysterious life of ocean animals, their various characteristics and how they live and survive under water.
Class Nursery organised Dress Up Day Activity- ‘My Favourite Animal’
Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized a delightful ‘Dress Up Day’ for Nursery students, centered around the theme of ‘My Favourite Animal.’ The young ones looked adorable, each dressed as their favorite animal, and spoke confidently with excitement. SAMVIDHI 6.0-THE LEGAL CONCLAVE
Delhi Public School, Chandigarh hosted its sixth edition of the annual event the Legal Conclave, Samvidhi, on 8th and 9th November, 2024.
The two-day event garnered a whopping participation of 87 teams from the tri-city schools as well as regional areas. Sh. Ashok Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Haryana Sports University, Rai, Sonepat, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Ms. Shipra Bansal, Chairperson of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) was the Guest of Honour on the opening day. Speaking about the event, the Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan in her address said that the Legal Conclave is an important platform for aspiring legal minds to be well acquainted with the legalities. She said that the event was not just an academic exercise but an opportunity to give exposure to children to assume leadership roles at the right age. Praising the participants for their outstanding performance in various events, she said that youth should be aware about their rights and duties so that they can become committed, law- abiding citizens.
The event with the aim to bring together students, legal experts, and practitioners explored the rapidly evolving landscape of law and justice. The conclave featured a series of engaging sessions, panel discussions, and keynote addresses from distinguished legal professionals and renowned academicians. The sixth edition of the legal fest included The Moot Court, Legal Entrepreneurship, War Committee, Street Play, Human Rights Convention and the Quiz which fostered teamwork and stimulated healthy competition among the students of classes IX to XII. The event witnessed a galaxy of experts who offered their tireless support and encouragement for judgment and appraisal.
On the concluding day, Mr. Raghubir Singh Bali, Member of Legislative assembly of Himachal Pradesh from Nagrota, Kangra, was the Chief Guest and Sh. Neeraj Nayar, Member of Legislative Assembly, Himachal Pradesh from Chamba, was the esteemed Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the school for providing such wonderful platforms that help to shape the character and personality of the students. He reiterated the significance of building a sound value system so that the students could become responsible citizens. It was an event pulsating with energy and cash prizes of over one lakh twenty thousand were rewarded to the winners in various events. The Overall Best School Trophy was won by BCM Arya Model Sen. Sec School, Model Town, Ludhiana. The event offered students a distinctive platform to interact with legal professionals, enhance their legal understanding, and engage in meaningful discussions, fully realizing its goal of fostering legal awareness and empowering students.
