Prep ll organised ‘Telescope Using Activity ‘

The teaching learning process at DPS, Chandigarh always aims to create an environment that encourages exploration and fosters curiosity. Keeping the same in mind, ‘Telescope Using Activity’ was organised for the children of class Prep ll to provide them with an introduction to the wonders of astronomy and help foster a sense of curiosity about the world around and beyond. The children understood the functioning of a telescope, how it makes distant things appear bigger and clearer. During the nature walk, children took turns looking through the telescope to observe the surroundings outside their classroom. The activity made learning fun and engaging for the young learners.

Rynaa Malhan of class 6 F secured 1st Rank in Punjab State Level camp in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Exam

Rynaa Malhan of class 6 F secured 1st Rank in Punjab State Level camp in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan exam held at IIT Ropar on 22nd Dec,2024. There were around 20 participants from all over Punjab. Earlier, she topped SAS Nagar district for the same.The day long camp included practical exam, viva, puzzle solving and Audio visual round. She was awarded with a trophy , certificate and cash prize of Rs 5000 by Director IIT Mr Rajiv Ahuja. She will represent Punjab at national level to be held in May 2025.

Pre- Primary Wing celebrated Christmas

The Pre-Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, embraced the festive spirit of Christmas with joy, togetherness and celebration. The little ones, dressed adorably in shades of red, white and green, immersed themselves in a variety of creative craft activities and sang melodious Christmas carols.
The entire wing radiated festive cheer, adorned with sparkling bells, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, cheerful snowmen and vibrant décor, creating a magical Christmas atmosphere for the children to cherish. The highlight of the celebration was the surprise visit from Santa Claus, which filled the young hearts with boundless excitement and joy, evident in their glowing smiles. The children also shared their Christmas treats with one another, embodying the true essence of the season- love, sharing and togetherness.

Class II organised ‘Clock Making Activity’

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh believes in making learning a fun-filled and enriching experience for the little ones through hands on activities. Mastering the skill of telling time will help our students become more independent and learn time management. Keeping this in mind, a ‘Clock Making Activity’ was organised for the children of Class II wherein the children made a clock and learnt how to tell the time. The activity aimed to enhance their fine motor skills, creativity and comprehension of time-telling in a fun and engaging manner.

Class IX & X Field Show-‘Saamanjasya- Evolve through Peace and Harmony’

On the 19th December, 2024, students of classes 9 and 10 of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated the field show with a display of immense talent to glorify academic and sports excellence. The different emotions, Shringara: Love or beauty, Hasya: Laughter, Raudra: Anger, Veera: Heroism, Bhayanaka: Terror or fear and Shanta: Peace or tranquillity were portrayed with zeal and enthusiasm. The cultural fiesta was marked by a series of exotic talents creating the essence of emotions and mood, spreading the message given by SDG 16 which aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies.

Principal, Ms. Reema Dewan presented the school’s activities and achievements for the past year, and its vision and mission. She appreciated the efforts put forth by the students and wished them well for the upcoming academic session. The occasion was graced by Mr Samwartak Singh Khangwal, Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Haryana. He is also holding the charge of Special Secretary, Administration, Haryana. The students were awarded prizes in the Academic as well as Co-Curricular areas. The celebration proved to be a platform for the students to come together & show their inherent talents. The atmosphere reverberated a harmonious connection of parents with the school and their children and letting them appreciate and enjoy their child’s talent.
The programme was indeed an amalgamation of various hues benefiting the theme wondrously.

Grades VII and VIII DPS Chandigarh celebrates Field Show and Carnival

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh once again honored its commitment to Sustainable Development Goals and presented an energetic Field Show “Aarogyam – Nurturing Health” for classes VII-VIII on the 18th December 2024. Dedicated to total wellness among students, parents and the community, the event also witnessed the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony to mark the excellence in academics, sports and extra-curriculars. Nearly 550 students participated in the event.

The celebration was graced by Mrs. Bhawna Garg, IAS, as the Chief Guest. With the aim to inspire wholesome living, balloons of happiness were released by the distinguished guest. The School Principal, in her address emphasised the importance of sustainability and highlighted the school’s initiatives to promote eco-friendliness to make a positive impact and create a better world for all.

The Health Awareness Show featured a series of engaging performances by students, especially designed to emphasize the need for fitness and well-being in order to enable organ donation and also fostering a sense of community even with the voiceless animals whom we pledged to adopt.

The fitness sojourn was followed by fun and frolic of the Carnival. Students and the parent community had a gala time, overwhelmed with so many exciting games and food stalls!

Grades V and VI present Field Show and Carnival at DPS Chandigarh

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh presented the enthralling Field Show and Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of classes V and VI on 17th December 2024.
The celebration began with a warm welcome followed by the unfurling of a scroll by the Chief Guest, Mr. Lalit Jain, IAS and Guest of Honour Ms. Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR.
The scroll highlighted the importance of sustainability. This was followed by a signature campaign to attest our commitment to promote sustainability.
The School Principal, in her address emphasised the importance of sustainability and highlighted the school’s initiatives to promote eco-friendliness to make a positive impact and create a better world for all.
The students who achieved academic excellence, honours in sports and extra curriculars were awarded badges in the Scholar Badge Ceremony. The main event of the day was the field show, which featured a range of performances, using the colour palette emphasising the importance of protecting the environment.
Fun, frolic and food was a real catch at the carnival. Students and the parent community had a gala time all throughout the evening.
The fun-filled evening came to an end with a take home message for each one that the sustainability palette around us where each colour serves as a visual reminder of our commitment to a sustainable future. All were urged to act responsibly and collaboratively to achieve these global objectives.

Class I organised ‘Collage Making Activity’

Collage making encourages children to engage in open-ended creative play, enhancing their cognitive and multisensory skills. To integrate innovation and art into the regular curriculum, DPS Chandigarh organized a ‘Collage Making Activity’ on the theme of ‘Animals and their favourite food’ for the young Dipsites of Class l. The children displayed their creativity by crafting beautiful collages, letting their imagination flow. This activity not only helped them learn about various animals but also about their eating habits. It was truly a memorable and educational experience for our young Dipsites.

Classes Prep l & Prep ll Field Show-‘Wildlife Buddies’

Students of classes Prep l & Prep ll of DPS, Chandigarh presented a Field Show on December 12,2024 titled ‘Wildlife Buddies.’ The event showcased the importance of preserving animals and their habitats. Through their graceful moves, the students portrayed the beauty of wildlife and the threats posed by poaching and habitat destruction.
The open-air setting added to the charm, allowing the audience to connect with nature while enjoying the show. The event concluded with a speech by the school Principal, Ms. Reema Dewan who applauded the young ones for their effort and layed emphasis on protecting wildlife and contributing to conservation efforts.

Classes Nursery, I and II Field Show- ‘Enchanting Earth’

The students of Classes Nursery, I and II of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh put up a Field Show ‘Enchanting Earth’ with great enthusiasm and dedication. Honoured guest Smt. Swati Sehgal, Additional Legal Remembrancer, Government of Haryana graced the occasion with her presence. The programme started with the release of balloons of happiness and joy by the school Principal, Mrs Reema Dewan. Dressed in bright and vibrant costumes as the wonders of nature like- fire, rain, rainbow, birds etc. the young dipsites showcased the beauty and importance of these elements and also reminded all of us to care and protect our planet’s natural treasures. The efforts of the students were lauded by all present. The show ended on a happy and joyful note

Classes III&IV Field Show-‘ToonTrek – Tooning into Life Lessons: A Joyful Celebration of Life’s Valuable Lessons’

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, proudly presented a captivating Field Show and Carnival for a cause, ‘ToonTrek – Tooning into Life Lessons’, showcasing the artistic talents of Classes 3 and 4 on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

Vibrant performances conveying invaluable life lessons on friendship, togetherness, overcoming challenges, and positivity marked the show. A colorful parade of cartoon characters spreading heartfelt messages and joy was appreciated by all present. Engaging activities and games promoting holistic development and stress-free living were the all-encompassing message.

The Principal shared the major achievements of the school followed by felicitation of scholars. In her address, she emphasized the importance of finding joy in simplicity and living life with enthusiasm and optimism.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Indrajeet Singh, General Manager of Fortis Group of Hospitals, graced the occasion, inspiring the students with his presence.

The event concluded on a high note, mesmerizing the audience, including parents and guests, and leaving a lasting impact on all.

Skill Saturday 5.0 Class III-V

Continuing with the prestigious skill enhancing Saturdays, students of classes III-V had the fifth Skill Saturday on November 23, 2024. The theme for the day was Little Einstein- a day of fun. The main objective of the day was hands on experimental learning and life skills.
The day started with a Scholastic Books Fair where students could explore as well as buy books. It was followed by an educational session on ‘Good Bacteria’ in the School Auditorium. In life skills session students were taught how to tie shoe lace using various methods. They were also provided with material to make their own flutes and whistle in Little Einstein Activity.
It was a day full of a lot of fun and frolic!!

Constitution Day celebrated

Constitution Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, marking the importance of adopting and upholding the values of the Indian Constitution. The entire school gathered to take the pledge, reaffirming our commitment to justice, liberty, and equality.
A poster making competition was organized for classes IX and X. Students showcased their creativity by designing posters highlighting the importance of the Indian Constitution and its key provisions. The competition aimed to encourage students to think critically about the Constitution’s significance in shaping India’s future. The event was a huge success, with students displaying their artistic skills and knowledge about the Constitution.
A special session was conducted for class VI students in the auditorium , where they shared insightful presentations about the Constitution’s history and its role in building a democratic society. The event was a reminder of our collective responsibility to honour and protect the rights and freedoms granted by the Constitution.

Skill Saturday organised for Class II

Skill Saturdays allow students to learn and practice various skills, fostering creativity, teamwork and self-improvement. Keeping this in mind, yet another Skill Saturday was organised for the students of class II of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. This particular Skill Saturday aimed to focus on hands-on learning experiences in areas such as physical fitness, art and craft and co-ordination. They learnt yoga poses, handkerchief designing and swanky dance moves. It was an enriching and fun filled day for the students.

DPS hosted ‘Children’s Day program at Sec 17 Plaza’

On the occasion of Children’s Day, Delhi Public School had the privilege of hosting the Children’s Day program at the Sec 17 Plaza organised by the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Children Rights (CCPCR.)
The program started with the welcoming of the dignitaries from the Education Department, the CCPCR, Principals, and parents.

This event reaffirmed our commitment to supporting every endeavour of CCPCR in advocating the implementation of child-centric policies and ensuring that the government upholds the highest standards of children’s rights under national and international frameworks, including the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

Parents and general public came together to support our vision and our mission which is to promote the SDGs, spreading the message of love, peace and harmony.
The Chairperson, CCPCR, Ms. Shipra Bansal addressed the gathering and apprised all about the vision of CCPCR.
The Sec 17 plaza reverberated with a energetic pulse which was heightened by the students of DPS performing a vibrant flash dance!
Our future brand ambassadors, championed this noble cause by holding a signature campaign. Every signature is a step towards a change together, to make our voices heard and create the future we believe in.
The school Principal delivered the vote of thanks to the CCPCR for letting us be a part of this important campaign. She closed the day’s celebrations by expressing her commitment to upholding the vision and mission of Empowering Children, Securing a safe the Future for them.
