A Day of Unforgettable Fun!
On March 10, 2025, the students of Class IV embarked on an exciting picnic adventure to Chokhi Dhani, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The day began with a refreshing welcome drink, followed by a mouth-watering breakfast that fueled their enthusiasm. Throughout the day, students participated in a wide range of traditional and recreational activities, including:

– Captivating puppet show
– Vibrant folk dances
– Mesmerizing magic show
– Fascinating bioscope
– Engaging games of Ludo and chess
– Creative pottery sessions
– Thrilling rope dance performance
The excitement was palpable as students enjoyed:

– Bouncing fun on the trampoline
– Swinging high on the swings
– Majestic camel rides
– Leisurely bullock cart rides
A sumptuous lunch marked the perfect end to an enjoyable day, leaving everyone with a sense of satisfaction and cherished memories.

The Class IV picnic was an unforgettable experience, fostering camaraderie, excitement, and a deeper connection with Indian culture and traditions.

Samaaira , Class VI A makes us proud!

The WOMEN FLORAL RIDE, organized on March 9, 2025, in honor of International Women’s Day, underscored the importance of women’s health, fitness, and eco-friendly commuting while strengthening community connections.

The event also championed the message that “Cycling is the future—offering a sustainable, healthy, and cost-effective mode of transport.”

A special highlight was Samaaira from Class VI A, who, as the youngest participant, impressively completed a 25 km ride.

Samaaira Bedi of 6A participated in event organised by CYCLEGIRI group in association with CHANDIGARH TOURISM on 27 October 2024. She successfully completed a 25 km bicycle ride that was dedicated to celebrating women who wore sarees and participated in the ride, symbolizing elegance, strength, and resilience. The event also highlighted and paid tribute to the spirit of the Quit India Movement, drawing inspiration from the courage and determination of women during the freedom struggle.
Samaaira was the youngest in the group to complete the 25 km ride in SAREE.

Suhani Sharma (Grade XII) Wins Grand Award at IRIS National Fair 2024-25, Selected for ISEF 2025 in the USA

Suhani Sharma (Grade XII) has brought pride to her school and the nation by securing a Grand Award in the Engineering Mechanics category at the Initiative for Research and Innovation in STEM (IRIS) National Fair 2024-25.

Her outstanding achievement has earned her a place as a Finalist at the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2025, set to take place in Columbus, Ohio, USA, from May 10-16, 2025. Recognized as the world’s largest pre-college STEM competition, ISEF will see over 1,800 finalists from 75+ countries competing for nearly $8 million in awards and scholarships.

Principal Reema Dewan congratulated Suhani on her remarkable accomplishment, stating, “She has set a benchmark for her peers at DPS. This international exposure at a young age will undoubtedly shape her future and open new avenues for success.”

The school and IRIS National Fair organizers have applauded Suhani’s achievement, acknowledging the encouragement and support provided by DPS Chandigarh in fostering scientific innovation and excellence.

Class Prep I ‘Enriching Excursion to Chokhi Dhani’

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised a delightful one-day excursion for students of Prep I on March 3,2025 (Monday) to Chokhi Dhani, Panchkula. The children were eager for a day of exploration and discovery. This outing was an unforgettable experience, as it introduced the young learners to the vibrant art, culture and heritage of the state of Rajasthan in an engaging and memorable way. A lively puppet show ‘kathputali nach’, activities like ‘kumhar’, ‘net ro khel’, ‘jadu ro khel’ stole their hearts, while the mesmerising ‘kalbeliya’ dance introduced them to traditional rhythms and movements. These activities not only entertained the children but also provided them with a deeper understanding and appreciation of our cultural heritage. The students also enjoyed camel and horse cart rides while exploring various cultural exhibits, which broadened their understanding of Rajasthan’s rich legacy. Adding another layer of cultural immersion to their experience, the kids relished a delicious spread of local food. This excursion to Chokhi Dhani was more than just a day out—it was a hands-on learning opportunity that went beyond the classroom, leaving the students spellbound. The excursion successfully delivered on its promise of adventure and created cherished memories!

ELS-V Funathon

Physical activity is of the utmost importance for healthy development in early childhood and beyond. Keeping this in mind, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized, ELS V- Funathon for the children of the Pre-Primary wing. The students were full of enthusiasm and had loads of fun participating in different races like ball balancing race, cat on the mat race, wiggly rainbow race, hurdle race, relay race, etc. Students competed the races with full zeal and winners were awarded medals. It was a memorable and fun-filled day for one and all.

Class Prep I organised Role-Play Activity: ‘Community Helpers’

The Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh was abuzz with excitement recently as the students of Class Prep I transformed into their favourite community helpers for an interactive role-play activity. Enthusiastically donning costumes and utilising creative props, the young learners brought diverse professions to life. Each child confidently presented their chosen helper, articulating their responsibilities and importance, thereby sharing insights into their daily tasks and crucial contributions. This engaging activity fostered creativity, imagination and significantly boosted the children’s communication skills. The ‘Community Helpers’ role-play activity was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression and highlighting the importance of community awareness in early childhood education.

Experiential Learning

Introducing children to science through experiments at a young age supports brain development and fosters their curiosity. With this in mind, an experiment called Air Occupies Space was conducted for the students of Class I of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. By using simple objects like inflated balloons, the students were shown how air inside the balloon takes up space. This hands-on activity encouraged intellectual curiosity, helping the students learn new ways to ask questions and better understand the world around them. Overall, it was an exciting and enjoyable experience for the young learners.

DPS Shines at a symphony of petals….. Chandigarh’s 53rd Rose Festival 2025

Chandigarh witnessed the dawn of its most fragrant celebration as the 53rd Annual Rose Festival unfurled its vibrant tapestry on 21st February 2025. The air, thick with the delicate perfume of countless roses, resonated with the joyous melodies of the inaugural ceremony, a spectacle that left all enthralled. The festival’s inauguration was graced by the esteemed presence of the Honourable Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria.

The DPS Band’s magnificent performance heralded the Governor’s arrival, setting a tone of regal elegance. The enchanting sight of our school’s tiny tots, with their radiant smiles, provided a perfect prelude to the day’s festivities. The ceremony then unfolded with a powerful Ganesha Vandana, a testament to the dedication of our DPS student performers, and a captivating Rajasthani dance that left the audience spellbound with its artistry, weaving a rich cultural narrative. The Rose Festival, a testament to Chandigarh’s horticultural excellence, transformed the gardens into a breathtaking display.

DPS Chandigarh once again rejoiced in the city’s spirit: a resonant fusion of art, nature, and heritage, an enduring spectacle.

A Proud Moment: Suhani Sharma (Head Girl) will represent India at the ISEF 2025

Suhani Sharma, Head Girl (XII), will represent India at the ISEF 2025.

After four rounds of presentations and interviews at the IRIS National Fair held on 8th-9th Feb 2025, Suhani Sharma’s Engineering Mechanics project has been shortlisted to represent the country at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Columbus, Ohio, scheduled for May 10-16, 2025.

By dint of her hard work, dedication and innovation, Suhani has earned this place among the country’s brightest young minds. Her project is titled “Hinged Threading – a Novel Method to Deploy Convex Polyhedral Nets.”

Class VIII visited Alliance Francaise Chandigarh

The students of class 8 visited Alliance Francaise Chandigarh on 28th January to view the screening of the french animated film Vanille. The film was shown with english subtitles and it allowed the students to get a glimpse of french culture and lifestyle, all the while improving their grasp on the french language.

The screening was followed by an interactive session with the director of the film, Mr. Guillaume Lorin. The students were able to ask him various questions about the film and learn more about the islands of Guadeloupe, where the film took place.

It was a memorable experience for the students and it helped bring them closer to the French language and culture.

Class Prep II organised ‘Show and Tell Activity’

Teaching road safety from an early age helps children develop safe habits. Keeping the same in mind a ‘Show and Tell Activity’ on being safe on the road was organized for the young learners of Prep ll on February 17,2025. Kids brought various toys like car, bus, motorbike etc and spoke about the same mentioning the various traffic rules one needs to follow while walking, crossing the road or driving. This road safety activity successfully helped the children grasp essential safety habits in a fun and engaging way. By learning these lessons early, they are better prepared to navigate roads safely with guidance from adults.

Workshop on Handwriting

Avani Sehgal, Vice President of the Student Council and Founder of the Handwriting Club, recently conducted an engaging and interactive workshop on handwriting and speed writing improvement for students of Grades VI and VII.

The session saw an overwhelming response, with more than 500 students enthusiastically participating in the workshop. Students actively engaged in learning techniques to enhance their writing clarity, speed, and presentation—skills that play a crucial role in academic performance.

Encouraged by the enthusiasm and curiosity of the students, Avani plans to conduct more workshops in the coming days to provide personalized guidance and practical exercises to help them refine their handwriting. She firmly believes that legible and efficient writing not only improves exam performance but also boosts confidence and leaves a lasting impression.

Through this initiative, Avani hopes to empower students with the art of clear, confident, and efficient writing—a skill that will benefit them far beyond their school years.

Pre-Primary Wing organised ‘ELS lV’

Fantasy for children is a genre where magic, mythical creatures and extraordinary adventures come to life. To make children relive their fantasies Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized the fourth segment of the Early Learning Series for the children of the Pre-Primary wing. The tiny tots of Class Nursery dressed up in bright colours and brought their favourite cartoon characters to life from the Toon World. Watching Prep l children dressed as Superheroes inspired and showed that courage and kindness can make us all grow. Children of Prep ll came dressed as characters of Disneyland and left everyone mesmerized by their spectacular performance. Young minds of Classes l and ll left everyone speechless dressed as futuristic robot characters ‘Robobiz’ and ‘Children from around the World’. The event concluded with ramp walk, songs and dance leaving the audience enthralled with joy and admiration.

Guntad Sandhu,-Youngest Golfer representing India in Women’s Amateur Golf

Guntas Kaur Sandhu, a Class 9H student of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, is the youngest Indian golfer selected for the 2025 Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP). The tournament, organized by Asia- Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) and The Royal and the Ancient Golf (R&A), will be held from March 6-9, 2025, at Hoiana Shores Golf Club, Vietnam. There are only 6 Indian golfers that are invited to represent India at the Women’s Amateur Asia Pacific . She is in the top 3 golfers to be directly invited from the APGC andThe R&A by the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) .Competing alongside world’s top-ranked amateurs, Guntas’s selection marks a remarkable achievement in her golfing journey.
