Avani Sehgal (Grade XII) represented our school at the Haryana Yuva Samvad 2025

We are proud to announce that Avani Sehgal, Vice President of the Student Council and a student of Class 12-C, represented our school at the Haryana Yuva Samvad 2025 held on 2nd and 3rd April 2025. The prestigious conference took place in the main assembly hall of Vidhan Sabha, Haryana and was graced by the presence of Honorable Speaker Shri Harvinder Kalyan Ji and Honorable Deputy Speaker Shri Krishan Lal Middha Ji.

Avani’s exceptional participation and insightful contributions in the conference earned her a Certificate of Noteworthy Performance. We congratulate her on this remarkable achievement and wish her continued success in all future endeavors!

Class II organised “Sensory Guessing Game”

The students of Class-II of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were given knowledge about different sense organs and their importance through a ‘Sensory Guessing Game Activity’.The purpose of this activity was to enhance students understanding about five senses—sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell by engaging them in a fun and interactive game. The students identified and described the five senses. They were blindfolded and made to guess different objects based on texture, sound, smell and taste.
This activity helped the students understand how their senses make them understand the world around them and stimulated their curiosity. The students were enthusiastic and engaged throughout the activity.

Dental Workshop was organised for students of Prep II

A Dental workshop was conducted on April 15,2025 for the students of Prep ll of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. The session was led by a pediatric dentist, Dr Harmala Kaur, who educated the children on the importance of dental hygiene and good oral care practices. The workshop began with an interactive talk where the children were explained the role of teeth, how to keep them clean and why it is important to brush twice a day. The dentist also spoke about the correct technique of brushing as well as healthy eating habits that help maintain strong teeth and gums. The session helped raise awareness among the young students about oral health in a fun and informative way. The children enjoyed the session and left with a better understanding of how to take care of their teeth.

Pre-Primary celebrated ‘Baisakhi’

The Pre-Primary students of DPS, Chandigarh joyfully celebrated Baisakhi with enthusiasm and excitement. The event aimed to introduce young learners to the significance of this harvest festival, which is widely celebrated in Punjab and other parts of India.The celebration began with teachers explaining the importance of Baisakhi through a power point presentation in a fun and engaging way. The little ones learned that Baisakhi marks the harvest festival and the founding of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Children participated in art and craft activities related to the festival and also danced on the tune of Baisakhi songs.
The Baisakhi celebration was a wonderful learning experience for the kids, filled with fun and cultural awareness.

Class I organised ‘Touch and Feel Activity’

To ignite curiosity and stimulate the senses of young learners, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised an engaging ‘Touch and Feel’ activity for the students of Class I. This hands-on experience was thoughtfully designed to immerse the children in a world of sensory exploration, fostering their development in a fun and interactive way. During the activity, the children had the opportunity to encounter a variety of sensory stimuli. They experienced the sweet fragrance of perfume, savoured the contrasting tastes of sugar and lemon, as well as, explored the textures of both soft and hard objects. This exploration not only heightened their awareness of the physical world but also deepened their understanding of how their senses connect them to their surroundings. This activity at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh exemplifies how interactive learning can nurture young minds, leaving a lasting impact on their ability to observe, explore and thrive in the world around them.

Classes VII and VIII organised Inter-Class Competition – “Best out of Waste”

The inaugural Inter-Section ‘Best out of Waste’ competition for classes VII and VIII took place on April 7, 2025, marking the beginning of the 2025-26 session. Students creatively transformed waste into decorative and functional pieces, showcasing innovation and sustainability.
Students of class VII and VIII participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity and talent. The diverse articles ranging from decorative items to functional products, which were all made from waste materials were judged based on creativity, originality, and practicality.
The competition was a huge success, with students showcasing their ingenuity and innovation. The event highlighted the importance of eco-friendly practices, and the school plans to organize more such initiatives to promote environmental awareness.

Classes VI-VIII organised ‘Inter House Poem Recitation Competition’

The “Maitri Vandana” Inter House Poem Recitation Competition was held on April 7.2025 at school auditorium for the students of classes VI-VIII. The students came up with different poems on the theme “Mother or Motherland ,” The young poets enthralled the audience with their articulation and memory skills while reciting. Students were judged on the parameters like confidence, voice modulation , memorization and over all presentation. The winners of the competition were as follows:

Pre- Primary Wing organised ‘World Health Day’

On the occasion of ‘World health Day’ young learners of Pre- Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were made aware about the importance of maintaining health and hygiene. To instill the importance of cleanliness, children actively participated in a hands-on handwashing activity. Additionally, engaging sessions on yoga and breathing exercises were conducted, fostering awareness about physical well-being and mindfulness. The session was interactive as the children shared their views about different healthy habits they have adopted in their routine. The event proved to be an enriching experience, empowering our little ones with essential life skills for a healthier future.

Class Nursery- ‘First Day in School’

The day was a mix of twinkling smiles and tiny tears as our little stars of Class Nursery stepped into their colorful new classrooms. They were warmly welcomed with cheerful songs and happy dances, making their first day extra special!
With playful games, fun activities and lots of laughter, the little ones ended their day with bright smiles, ready for a wonderful new journey ahead!

DPS organized ‘Nursery Orientation Session’

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized an Orientation Programme for the parents of class Nursery aiming to involve them as ‘partners in shaping young minds’. The session was to welcome new parents and to get them better acquainted with the working of the school and teaching methodology. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the school Director (Academics and Administration) ,Ms. Reema Dewan. In her address she explained that the guiding principle of our school is to nurture each child, fostering confidence, awareness and a sense of responsibility. She also advised the parents to prioritize quality time with their children, cherishing every moment spent together. Children of classes Prep l and Prep ll gave basic insight about the school curriculum using poetic verses and lines. The session concluded with a personal interaction between the parents and teachers.

Pre-Primary wing organised ‘Orientation Programme’

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised an ‘Orientation Programme’ for the parents of the Pre-Primary wing on March 27, 2025. The programme aimed to give an insight to the parents about the curriculum, teaching methodology and co-curricular activities to be followed in these classes. Parents were also guided on how to support their children’s learning at home. The orientation programme was highly informative and successfully fostered collaboration between parents and the school, ensuring a supportive learning environment for students.

Class V Picnic to Chowki Dhani

A Fun-Filled Day of Culture and Entertainment
Our Class V picnic to Chowki Dhani on March 12, 2025, was a resounding success! The venue’s rustic charm and traditional Rajasthani culture provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
The 200 students of Class V were treated to an array of mesmerizing performances, including folk dances, folk music, pottery, camel riding and magic show.

Class VII excursion to ‘Science City’

“Just education is not enough, children must have sunshine, freedom and playtime”
On March 12th, 2025, Grade VII students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh embarked on a memorable picnic to Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala blending education and entertainment. The day commenced with a traditional Punjabi breakfast at Haveli, Jalandhar, fueling the students for their adventure.
Upon arrival at the Science City, students delved into interactive exhibits and scientific wonders. The Space Gallery, Laser show, Virtual expeditions and Dinosaur Park captivated their imagination, transforming learning into an engaging experience.
The afternoon brought a vibrant cultural immersion at Rangla Punjab. A delicious Punjabi lunch catered to diverse tastes, followed by a lively DJ session. Students danced and celebrated, creating a festive atmosphere. The blend of traditional cuisine and modern music provided a unique cultural experience.
The excursion aimed to provide a break from the classroom, encouraging students to learn through exploration and interaction. They experienced science beyond textbooks and celebrated Punjabi culture with food and music. The trip fostered camaraderie and created lasting memories.

Class III Excursion to Chhatbir Zoo

On 11th March, Class 3 embarked on an exciting trip to Chhatbir Zoo. The students were thrilled to see lions, tigers, elephants, and colourful birds up close. The deer safari and lion safari were a special highlight! They also learned about wildlife conservation and enjoyed a fun picnic. It was a day filled with adventure, learning, and unforgettable memories!

Class IV Picnic

On March 10, 2025, the students of Class IV embarked on an exciting picnic adventure to Chokhi Dhani, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The day began with a refreshing welcome drink, followed by a mouth-watering breakfast that fueled their enthusiasm. Throughout the day, students participated in a wide range of traditional and recreational activities, including:

– Vibrant folk dances
– Mesmerizing magic show
– Fascinating bioscope
– Engaging games of Ludo and chess
– Creative pottery sessions
– Thrilling rope dance performance
The excitement was palpable as students enjoyed:

– Majestic camel rides
– Leisurely bullock cart rides
A sumptuous lunch marked the perfect end to an enjoyable day, leaving everyone with a sense of satisfaction and cherished memories.
