First position in the Zonal level of Nrityanjali 2015 – Inter-DPS Dance Festival

  • Our School Dance Team comprising of Aashna Verma (XII E), Soumya (XII E), Sanjali Sethi (XII E), Richa Verma (XII D) and Mehak Gupta (XII D) bagged the First position in the Zonal Level of Nrityanjali 2015 – Inter-DPS Dance Festival held at DPS Chandigarh on 8th August, 2015. The team will now be participating in the Nationals at DPS Noida in the month of November, 2015.

Freshers Party organised at DPS

A freshers’ party was organised by class 12 students to welcome class 11 on 26th August 2015 in the school auditorium. A cultural programme comprising of dance, drama and music was presented by the students. Mrs. Reema Dewan welcomed the class 11 students and advised them to aim at overall development of their personality.

Rakshabandhan Celebrations

Rakshabandhan is one of the most endearing ways to celebrate bond between brothers and sisters. To strengthen this bond ‘Rakhi Making Activity’ was done in classes Nursery and Prep.

Girls of Class I celebrated the occasion by preparing handmade rakhis for their brothers and boys made beautiful ‘Thank you’ cards for their sisters.

Students of Class II and III made colourful eye catching rachis as they participated in the ‘Rakhi Making Competition’.

Favorite Colour Dress Day

27th August was celebrated as Favorite Colour Dress Day in class 1. The children came dressed up in their favorite coloured dress to break the monotony of wearing the school uniform. They were explained the significance of different colours. They played a variety of games using vibrant colours. The Favorite Coloured Dress Day celebration ended up  with the students doing a colourful worksheet.

Flower Making Activity

With an aim to break the monotony and enhance creativity of children, a ‘Flower Making’ competition was conducted for the students of class 5. As soon as the little artists started working with nimble fingers, the classrooms were bathed in amazing hues of  different flowers. For some children, a cut here and a fold there, a masterpiece was ready soon while some worked painstakingly to create their pieces of art. The classrooms looked like little gardens with beautiful roses, lilies, dahlias, buttercups, daisies and so many more. The activity was like a breath of fresh air for the students.

Intra Class Debate Activity

Students of Class 8 demonstrated their communication skills through Intra-Classroom Debate Activity which provided them an opportunity to work in a collaborative and cooperative group setting. By having students discuss and organize their points of view for one side of an argument, they were able to discover new information and put knowledge into action. Such classroom debates help students learn through friendly competition, examine controversial topics and strengthen skills in areas of leadership, interpersonal influence, team building, group problem solving and oral presentation.
