On 14th October 2024, students from Classes 3 to 5 participated in a Slogan Writing Activity to pay tribute to the iconic Indian industrialist and philanthropist, Mr. Ratan Tata. The students were inspired to incorporate his teachings into their own lives. This activity not only enhanced their creative thinking but also encouraged them to reflect on the importance of leadership, integrity, and social responsibility, the qualities embodied by Mr Ratan Tata.
Class Prep I organized ‘Traffic Rule Activity’
At Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, an engaging ‘Learning Traffic Rules Activity’ was held for Class Prep I to educate young students about road safety. The children took part in an interactive role-play session where they learnt about traffic signals and the proper use of zebra crossing. They navigated a mock road setup with toy vehicles, following traffic lights to understand the importance of stopping, waiting and crossing safely at the appropriate times. Various road signs were introduced through flashcards, while the teacher highlighted essential rules for safe pedestrian behaviour. The students eagerly participated in the activity, making it both enjoyable and informative.
DPS celebrated ‘Dussehra’
On October 8, 2024, the Satluj House of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized an assembly for Dussehra, celebrating the victory of good over evil. The event included a prayer and performances like skits, dances, and recitations, highlighting the festival’s essence. Junior council members received their badges, marking a key milestone in their leadership journey. Headmistress Mrs. Sangeeta Sood delivered an inspiring speech about leadership responsibilities. The assembly successfully conveyed the message of good triumphing over evil, inspiring attendees to embrace courage and integrity.

DPS celebrated ‘155th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’
To commemorate the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Ravi House students presented a special morning assembly in the school Amphitheatre on 4th October,2024. Students from various classes (juniors and seniors) enthusiastically participated in the assembly.
The assembly opened with the heart touching prayer –‘Raghupati Raghav’which was Gandhijis’ favourite hymn followed by thought, news, poem, dance and a thought provoking Nukkad Natak which portrayed the principles taught by Gandhiji. It reminded the students to practice non-violence, honesty and self-discipline in their actions. Overall, the assembly was an enriching experience, helping everyone to reflect on the timeless values preached by Gandhiji and how they can be applied in modern times.
Class IV organised ‘Slogan Writing Competition’
A Slogan Writing Competition was held in Class IV on 7th October 2024 marking the celebration of Dussehra. The theme for the competition was Good Wins Over Evil. The students crafted thoughtful slogans, showcasing their creativity with elegant calligraphy.
Junior Investiture Ceremony
The Junior Investiture Ceremony at DPS Chandigarh, held on Octoner 8 2024, marked a significant milestone in the lives of our young leaders. The event took place at the school Amphitheater. The students and teachers gathered to witness the formal installation of the newly elected junior office bearers for the academic year.
Teachers and fellow students cheered enthusiastically, expressing their pride in the new office bearers.
The ceremony concluded with an address by the School Headmistress.
Pre- Primary Wing organised ‘Theatre Fest’
Theatre allows children to explore different roles, settings and scenarios and encourages creative thinking. Keeping the same in mind Delhi Public School, Chandigarh chose ‘Theatre Fest’ as a medium to raise awareness about social issues like ‘Say no to Plastic’, ‘Stop Pollution’, ‘Road Safety’ etc during the third segment of the Early Learning Series for the children of the Pre-Primary wing.
With their parents as audience the children performed skits and sang songs highlighting the importance of following road safety rules, cleanliness, keeping the environment plastic free, reducing pollution and the importance of spending quality time.
To conclude theatre fest not only enriched children’s understanding of the world but also empowered them to become informed and engaged citizens.
