Classes IX & X organised ‘Skill Saturday’

Skill Saturday was organised on October 19th,2024 for sudents of classes IX and X,who were engaged in a series of creative and cultural activities.
We began with a session on Time Management.Students learned essential techniques to prioritize tasks, set realistic goals, and create effective schedules. Following this, students participated in a Diwali card-making workshop, where they designed and personalized cards for family and friends.
Next, they decorated diyas, emphasizing the significance of light during the festival. The highlight was creating vibrant rangoli designs, fostering teamwork and artistic expression. We concluded the session with a screening of a Ramayan video, followed by an interactive quiz that tested their understanding of the epic’s themes and characters. Overall, it was a productive and festive celebration that enhanced both creativity and cultural appreciation.

Eco-friendly Diwali Celebrations

On 19th October, 2024, students of Class VI- VIII successfully conducted a paper bag distribution drive, aiming to promote eco-friendly practices and reduce plastic waste in our community. Students distributed paper bags made by them to local retailers and consumers. Through partnerships with local businesses, door-to-door distribution, and awareness campaigns, they encouraged people to reduce plastic waste.
We plan to continue this drive, explore new engagement strategies, and organize regular clean-up drives to further promote environmental responsibility.

Clsses I & II organised ‘Skill Saturday’

Learning a new skill at an early age helps children integrate it into their lives more naturally. With this in mind, ‘Skill Saturday’ was organized for classes I & II on October 19, 2024. The day began with drill and exercises followed by engaging activities such as buttoning of shirt, making rangoli, folding of clothes and extempore. The day concluded on a high note with a fun and energetic dance session to a popular song, where the kids learned new dance steps. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to step out of their comfort zones and try something new.

Class II organised ‘Role Play on Heavenly Bodies’

The students of class II of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were apprised of the movement and presence of various heavenly bodies in space during their General Awareness class. To enhance their knowledge about the planets and to fuel their imagination a role play activity was organised wherein the children enacted as planets that revolve around the sun in the solar system on their fixed orbits. They also shared valuable information about the planets. The students thoroughly enjoyed exploring and learning about the wonderful planets of our universe in an interesting way.

Class Prep ll-Educational Trip to ‘Natural History Museum’

The children of Class Prep ll of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh had a fun and educational trip to the ‘Natural History Museum’ in Chandigarh. They were excited to explore the exhibits on dinosaurs, ancient fossils and wildlife. The museum staff guided them through each section, explaining fascinating facts about nature and history. The students enjoyed learning about different animals and their habitats, while the life-sized dinosaur models were a big highlight. The trip helped the children understand the wonders of nature in a fun and interactive way, making it a memorable experience for all!

Reyansh Batra of Class 4C has published a book titled The Daring Ghostbusters with Bribooks. In this thrilling story, he showcases his creativity by writing about four friends who bravely defeat zombies and a witch, overcoming many challenges. The book inspires young readers to face their fears with courage instead of running away.

Marvelous feat by students of class IV & V at Bhavan Vidyalaya,Chandigarh

In a marvellous feat, the students of Classes IV and V impressed the audience with their exceptional singing skills and they secured second prize in 27th Shri K.J. Khosla Memorial Inter school folk singing competition 2024

Class I- Educational Trip to ‘Bird Park’

An educational trip to the ‘Bird Park’ was organised for the students of Class I of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. The trip gave an opportunity to explore and learn in an informal environment.
The children witnessed various species of birds and got to know a lot about them. It turned out to be a trip full of fun and frolic with sweet memories to cherish.

Class Prep II organised ‘Nest Making Activity’

With an aim to provide holistic learning experience and to promote well rounded growth and development among our young dipsites a ‘Nest Making Activity’ was organised by DPS, Chandigarh for the students of Class Prep II.
As a part of the General Awareness topic for the month, children learnt about various characteristics of birds and their habitat. Children had an amazing time creating their own little bird nest and adding eggs to it using a variety of material such as twigs, grass, cotton and paper bowls. Over all it was a delightful and engaging experience for the children fostering learning ,creativity and joy.

Class Prep I excursion to ‘Natural History Museum’

The students of Class Prep I of DPS, Chandigarh embarked on an exciting excursion to the Natural History Museum, where they explored the fascinating journey of our planet through the ages. This immersive experience took them through the Mesozoic Era, focusing on the Triassic and Jurassic periods of evolution.
The students were captivated by the museum’s impressive timeline of Earth, showcasing its transformation over billions of years into a thriving habitat for life. They marvelled at the stunning fossils, lifelike dinosaur models and beautiful hand- embroidered pictures of birds. The diorama of a caveman also sparked their imaginations about early human life.
This informative outing left our young learners with a greater appreciation for the natural world and its fascinating history!
