Celebrating ‘The Unity in Diversity’
DPS,Chandigarh celebrated the unity in diversity of our nation and to maintain and strengthen the fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between the people of our country.We organised a Music activity, at level 6-8, wherein a Group Song was taught to the students . The song was an amalgamation of the language Hindi, spoken in Chandigarh and Gujrati, spoken in Dadra and Nagar Haveli.Students enjoyed learning about the paired Union Territories i.e. Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Chandigarh.
Its aim was to engage children in learning about all the Indian states and union territories showcasing the rich heritage and culture, customs and traditions of Chandigarh and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, thus fostering a sense of common identity.
Keeping in mind the glorious 75 years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements, ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava’ has been initiated by the Government of India. Celebrating this Mahotsav, children of the pre-primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were made aware of the freedom fighters who took part in the freedom struggle through Story Telling Sessions and Puppetry. The students’ enthusiasm was also reflected in the singing sessions remembering great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel etc. The day concluded with the children echoing the slogan ‘Jai Hind Jai Bharat.’
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL
Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day on 15th August, 2021 on the virtual platform. The day started with the hoisting of the National Flag by the school Principal, Mrs Reema Dewan. The flag hoisting was followed by a mélange of patriotic activities on the virtual platform, which created an atmosphere of national pride.
The school Principal, Mrs Reema Dewan, in her address to the gathering, expressed pride in the rich cultural past of the country. She urged every student to work with honesty and dedication so that our nation soars to monumental heights.
The function concluded by the singing of the National Anthem.
DPS Chandigarh organized a webinar for the students of class IV on India’s freedom struggle under the initiative Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav launched by the government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
Addressing the students virtually, the speaker said that the India’s freedom struggle was a result of the freedom fighters and activists. The British were able to rule over us because of the absence of felling of nationalism in the minds of Indians.
It was further discussed that India is the biggest known democracy of the world with many languages, religions etc.
The reason why March 12( the day when Gandhiji started the Dandi March) was chosen to inaugurate this celebration was also made known to the young minds.
On the occasion of 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence,
to commemorate the monumental event and celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a badge making activity was conducted in various sections of class 7 in their Art classes.
The whole purpose of the activity was to enhance the feeling of patriotism and their love and respect for the nation.
The children were given a brief on how to go about it and were then told to come up with all their creativity to create beautiful badges on the given topic.
