Delhi Public School Chandigarh wore a festive look as the students and staff celebrated the Festival of Lights, Diwali. A Special Assembly was held on the occasion. The celebrations began with Shri Ram Vandana. The significance of the day was brought out in a speech and the students were asked to refrain from bursting crackers. The highlight of the programme was a wonderfully choreographed dance performance.
The students of class XI, Commerce Stream launched a company Deepshikha Ltd. The company intends to develop the spirit of entrepreneurship among students by recycling old, torn clothes and converting them into innovative value added products like bags, cushions, folders, mobile covers etc. with the help of rural weavers. The company is propagating good social cause by generating employment for the rural artisans. The students will get associated with the weavers through procuring of raw material, supplying it to weavers, purchasing the finished products and marketing of products under the brand name “Deepshikha”.
