Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, conducted a week long UK Exchange Progamme with Westkirby Primary School, Wirral UK on 2nd April, 2010. This cultural and educational exchange programme which falls under the DFID Global School Partnership Programme aimed at building bridges between schools of India and UK.
Mr. Andy Ryan, IT Coordinator from Westkirby School, UK was on a visit to the school. Special assemblies on themes such as ‘Glimpses of Indian Festivals’, ‘Nurturing Values among Children’ and ‘Raising Global Concern over the Ailing Planet’ were organized during his visit. Various classroom activities were also planned to give an insight into the teaching methodologies followed in the school. Yoga and kite flying were incorporated as part of outdoor activities. Mr. Ryan also conducted classroom sessions with teachers and students to share the teaching techniques followed in UK schools.
