A Sports Meet ‘Indradhanush’ was organized by DPS Chandigarh on the occasion of Republic Day on 26th January in the school premises. More than 1000 children from classes VI-X participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and put up a spectacular show.
Mr. Dinesh Mongia, a noted cricketer of international repute, presided over the meet as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the efforts of the school in channelizing the energy of the children in the right direction by organizing such events. He thanked the parents for taking care of the country and extolled the children to carry forward the torch.
The day commenced with hoisting of the National flag by the Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan and release of balloons. The school choir presented a medley of patriotic songs expressing their pride in being an Indian.
This was followed by lighting of the flame by the sports stars of our school.
The children impressed the gathering with their immaculate March Past, graceful aerobics, harmonious, rhythmic and colourful drill and synchronized yoga. The show was interspersed with quite a few fun races – Ant Bully, Ball Wonder, Choco Wrap etc. The children participating in the races seemed to be have a rocking time.
The grand finale of the day, the energetic, lively foot tapping ‘Bhangra’ mesmerized everyone.
