The Annual Inter-DPS Commerce Festival-VANIJYA 2016 was held at DPS, Chandigarh on 15th October, 2016 in the school premises. More than 200 students from 18 DPS schools from across the country were seen competing against each other in the most challenging events. The guests of honour for the occasion were Mr. Kamal Arora, Chairman, Sangeet Natak Academy and Mr. V.K. Kapoor (IPS), Chief Coordinator, NALSA, State Legal Services Authority. They lauded the efforts of the participants and congratulated the school for hosting up such a well-coordinated event.
This festival was an endeavour to help create a real business like platform to enable commerce enthusiasts understand the intricate nuances and aspects of trade and commerce by way of distinctive events. The highlights of the festival were onsite events like Bullseye which involved students suggesting the best possible solution to a given corporate situation, Bizmania – a business quiz, Juggernaut – launching a dream scheme and Gordian Knot – a product fair, all aiming to develop leadership qualities and create awareness among students. Street plays were performed to create awareness about socio-economic issues through drama in event – Expressions. It also included three online events, Epeolatry – Book Review, Digerati – Website Development and Technocrat – Animated Clipping. Illustrious people from different fields adjudged the various events.
The Principal, Mrs Reema Dewan said that DPS is committed to developing the minds and initiatives of children. She added that such endeavours help in building bridges and foster a sense of bonhomie among students through healthy competition. She said that the future lies in the hands of the youth. Such platforms help students gain confidence and explore their latent potential. She thanked everyone associated with the event.
The Valedictory and the Prize Distribution Ceremony commenced with a mesmerizing cultural extravaganza which included a soulful song, dance and an engaging street play presented by the host school. DPS Noida was awarded the overall best performance award for onsite events and DPS Vasant Kunj was declared the overall best performer for online events. The event wise winners are as follows :-

The event culminated with a vote of thanks. Vanijya-2016 ended as a landmark success which left students yearning for more.
