Giving voice to the environmental movement, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh commemorated ‘Earth Day’ with a week-long celebration. The students poignantly spread awareness about the human impact on environment. The celebrations also served as a reminder that it is never too late to start taking small steps each day.
A series of activities and competitions such as Best out of Waste, Poster Making and Collage Making saw all the students involved and buzzing. Their underlying themes such as keeping the environment clean, preserving our environment and being aware of the perils looming large were aptly put across.
Parents of the Pre-Primary children were seen intrinsically involved in activities that promoted the 4R’s i.e. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Refurnish.
All the Dipsites came together when they joined hands to take the Water Conservation Pledge. The little ones were seen swinging and swaying to the song ‘Tree-O-Tree’. Furthermore, nature walks and Green Day with children sporting green dresses and green tiffins reinforced the theme.
The week came to an end with a T-Shirt Painting Competition where the senior students displayed their exceptional talent and thus the message ‘Go Green’ was explicitly expressed through slogans.
