Delhi Public School, Chandigarh hosted a three-day Theatre Festival ‘StageKraft’ from 16th May to 18th May, 2016.
Ms. Pratima Srivastav, IFS, Mr. Manish Kumar, Field Director, M.C. Zoological Park, Chhatbir Zoo and Ms. Ananya Gautam, IGP, Financial Intelligence Unit, Punjab graced the occasion as Chief Guests.
The festival was a celebration featuring three outstanding high school student productions, namely ‘Singhasan Battisi’ from the treasure trove of ancient Indian tales, ‘Annie’ by Thomas Meeham and ‘Mother’s Day’ by J.B. Priestly. All the three plays highlighted the values that are immensely important for holistic development of students.
Each day the play was followed by the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of Classes IX, X and XII respectively for the session 2015-16. The young achievers were felicitated and applauded for excelling in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
The Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan in her motivating address stressed on the importance of co-curricular activities in shaping the overall personality of children which she feels is must to be successful in life. She further added that academic scores form only one dimension in life but not the be all. She urged the parents to let their children relish every moment of their growing years.
