‘NetChamps’ championship by Connect broadband in association with Hindustan Times was conducted on 30th November at Delhi Public School for students of Class 5 till 8. The programme started with a seminar addressed by Jagdeep Singh from SIP Academy, followed by a quiz contest for students. Four candidates were shortlisted from each class for quiz round. Mehar and Medha of Class 5 and 6; Soumil and Hirdae of Class 7 and 8 stood first in their respective category. Students were educated on potential risks related to internet and how to avoid such risks. Important guidelines were imparted on how children can avoid online risks and rules for online safety and how to be a smart internet user. The event is structured in three tiers, including school rounds, city round and the grand finale. Chandigarh and Punjab-wide mega contest will hunt for Net Champ. The event has been conducted in more than 30 leading schools across Punjab and tricity and is inching towards the city finale stage.
