Students of Class VIII of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh presented ‘Shakti – the empowered women’ presenting their class show and Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. Mrs. Sukhvinder Khanna, IRS, Director of Income Tax (I & CI) graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The students extended their reverence to womanhood through various cultural presentations. The thunderous applause by the parents proved testimony to the laudable effort of 300 participants. The meritorious students were felicitated for their academic performances.
Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan congratulated all those who made the program a grand success. She stressed on reaching out to each student and providing them with a platform to make them confident, aware and committed. She advised the parents to take a step towards gender sensitisation starting with their homes and social circles. She also asked the boys to take a pledge to honour the dignity of every woman in their lives. She urged the girls to walk along with boys upholding and maintaining their pride for this is the need of the hour.
