DPS hosted the Annual Inter- DPS Environment Fest-El Entorno

Delhi Public School Chandigarh, hosted the Annual Inter-DPS Environment Festival – El Entorno on September 26th and 27th, 2024 under the aegis of The DPS Society. More than 200 students from 19 DPS schools from across the country competed against each other in multiple, highly challenging online and onsite events. Ms. Dolly Chanana, Joint Director at the Delhi Public School Society inaugurated the two-day festival. On the second day, Ms. V. Neeraja, IPS, ADGP, Cyber Crime, Punjab was the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Simer Singh Negi, Member, Board of Management Delhi Public School, Chandigarh and Mohali.
The festival is an endeavour to give students a platform to convey a strong message of environment protection and sustainability. The online events included Documentary Making, Photography and E-Sculpt, best out of e-waste art challenge among others to test the consciousness and understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals. In the second category of onsite events, DPS Chandigarh witnessed the confluence of creativity and ingenuity in events like Canvas to Cause (Folk Art Expression), Solutions Spectrum (Evaluating Perspectives), Nature ‘s Marionettes (Puppetry Tales), Planet Innovate (Integrating Tech and Nature Exhibition) and Elegancia Elemental (Fashion Show). These events aimed at promoting and encouraging awareness about the crucial role of humans to respect, protect and preserve the natural world.
The Principal, Mrs Reema Dewan said that DPS Chandigarh is the trailblazer of critical and creative learning and is committed to adopt problem solving as a skill set in its curriculum. She congratulated the participants for presenting the best solutions to such varied environmental issues that the whole purpose of the fest achieved its full reward. She urged the students to think and act and strive for a healthy tomorrow. She reiterated the need to shoulder the responsibility and reinforce our accountability towards Mother Earth. She concluded with a shlok from the Vedas, that for the environment, the earth to be advantageous to all, must be nurtured and protected and care for.
The event ended with an invigorating valedictory function with DPS Faridabad bagging the overall trophy.
