The workshop also aimed to provide educators with time-sensitive and cost-effective activity-based practices that can be easily integrated into their classrooms.
The workshop was lively and engaging, highlighting the value of activity-based learning, especially in early school. It explored the idea of “Panchakosha Vikas,” which highlights the five stages of a child’s development, including the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual phases of growth. The programme highlighted how educational activities should be in line with these developmental phases and offered insightful information on how to foster competencies through interesting activities like problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity and social interaction.
The practical aspect of this workshop was what distinguished it. Teachers actively participated in the practical exercises including “Greetings,” “Paper Crush Ball,” and “Pocket Train,” Role Play, Portrait Activity, Circle Time, Finger Puppet, Reading Library, Twist the fairy tales and rhymes in today’s context, doing away with gender prejudices. These exercises not only introduced a fun factor but also provided real-world illustrations of how interactive exercises can dramatically improve learning.
