DPS celebrated ‘Reading Month’

National Reading Month was celebrated with huge enthusiasm and fervour at DPS Chandigarh from 19th June 2022 to 18th July 2022. The school library department organised various interesting and fun-filled activities to spread the message of Hon’ble Prime Minister to ‘Read and Grow’.
The mission of developing the reading habits among the students started with the ‘Reading Day Pledge’ on 19th June where the young learners promised to be an active participant in the plethora of Reading activities for becoming an avid readers. The students of class 3 to 10 wholeheartedly participated in Slogan Writing on importance/ development of Reading. Their line of thought stirred the interest of their fellow young friends in extensive reading and enlightened them to be a life-long book lover. The activities such as Finger Puppets and Book Jacket grabbed the interest of everyone and the students showcased their brimming innovative creative skills. The principal Ms Reema Dewan acknowledged the best efforts and talent of the students, and encouraged them to befriend with books forever as books are the constant source of inspiration and knowledge. She emphasised that such events develop the mental horizon of the learners and make them wise and prudent. She also appreciated the Library department for their thoughtful activities and active participation of the students throughout the month.
