The students and the Library department of Delhi Public School Chandigarh celebrated the International Literacy Day and Reading Week virtually from 8th September to 14th September 2020 to promote reading among students as per the CBSE guidelines. Various activities were scheduled to keep students’ minds stimulated and focused to attain this objective. All the students were engaged in the development of reading skills through diverse creative activities such as ‘Questionnaire on Roald Dahl’s biography, ‘Draw the book cover and talk about your favourite book’, ‘ Make finger puppet based on Characters of Roald Dahl’s books’ etc. The students participated enthusiastically and shared their joys of reading with the friends on virtual platform. The principal appreciated the efforts of the children and encouraged them to make reading an integral part of their life as reading makes the man perfect. Books are the source of inspiration and guide us at every stage of life. She also thanked all the parents for their unconditional support and allowing the children to take part enthusiastically for the achieving the desired aim.
