The evening of 29th November, 2011 was marked with celebration of excellence at DPS Chandigarh where the young achievers of the school were felicitated for their achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities in the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony.
Ms. Prerna Puri, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mr. Alexander Connolly from Sixth Form Bolton College, our partner school in UK was the honoured guest.
As per the DPS tradition, the show took off with the lighting of the lamp. The highlights of the day were the orchestra, a beautiful blend of rhythmic tracks of various regions of India and a splendid rendition of ‘The Highwayman’ by ‘Alfred Noyes’, an all time classical favourite. Mewasi, a tribal dance of Gujarat, performed by students captivated the hearts of the audience leaving them spellbound.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Prerna Puri appreciated the cultural programme put up by the children. She congratulated the prize winners and encouraged them to strive harder to achieve greater success.
