The students of class VII, DPS Chandigarh presented their class show ‘Anandoutsav – Joy of Giving’ on the occasion of the Class Show and Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. Celebrating the truth that happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give, the programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Honourable Chief Guest, Mr. Pankaj Bawa, Senior Town Planner, GMADA.
The zealous students put up a spectacular show showcasing the joys of giving. The singers mesmerized everyone with their rendition of the song ‘Propkaar’. A dance-drama on the selfless love showered by parents left many teary-eyed. The students highlighted the importance of organ-donation through an impressive street play. A dance on the children who are deprived of the warmth of parents and grandparents tugged at the heart of the audience. A mime highlighting the need for compassion and equal opportunities for the specially abled children sent across a strong message. The budding singers sang a foot-tapping song ‘Joy of Giving’. The show came to an end with the grand finale reinforcing the happiness that one gets on giving and sharing.
The applause by the parents proved testimony to the laudable effort of the participants. The Chief Guest felicitated the meritorious students for their academic performance. The Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan, congratulated all those who made the programme a grand success. She said that extracurricular activities help in the holistic development of children and these class shows are a platform to showcase and nurture the talent of each and every child.
