DPS Enthusiastically Marks the Reading Month

Delhi Public School Chandigarh observed the Reading Month with great zeal and passion to develop and promote the reading habits among its students. Numerous scholastic activities were organized throughout the month to engage young readers in commemoration of the Late Shri P.N. Panicker, the Father of the Library Movement.
The month long activities started with the Reading Day pledge where the DPSites promised to be active participants in the scheduled Reading activities for becoming avid readers. The students of class 4 and 5 showcased their skills of poem recitation on the ‘Importance of Reading and their favourite Books’.
Classes 6 to 8 presented their creativity and innate talent of making Book Jackets and Book Covers of their favourite genres of literature. The school library department planned and organised the fun-filled activities for accomplishing the desired objective.
Principal Mrs Reema Diwan appreciated the enthusiasm of the students for their active participation in the Reading month . She shared that such reading missions are imperative for developing mental horizon and comprehensive growth of the children. She also appreciated the Library department for their efforts in organising thoughtful reading activities.
