DPS organized Skill- Based Learning for Class VIII

Taking forward its commitment to holistic development of the students, Team DPS organized a No-BAG DAY aka Skill Saturday on 27th April 2023 for Class VIII. As part of the skill-based learning, a delightful package of activities beyond books was planned for honing the creative and critical thinking of the students. The day began with an energetic field trip where the children collected for morning drill followed by fun filled indigenous games like kho-kho, Kabaddi, Pithu conducted by the Sports Department.
To ignite the young minds, the close knit classroom environment provided a perfect stage for the students to showcase their talent and build confidence and communication skills . It provided an opportunity for the students to show a plethora of performing Arts. From gymnastics to solo dance/ song performance, students enthusiastically revealed the inner artist in them.
A Big Serve of Social Skills- Pool Lunch was hosted by students with everyone bringing their favourite dish for the pot luck lunch. Some students fixed fresh salad while a few showed their culinary skills by bringing self-made no- fire food. As a collaborative experiential learning, it was not just about learning table manners, etiquette, or setting a buffet but about promoting student interaction, self-management and leadership skills.
Preparing for life, the students were also engaged in basic tutorial on dressing up, tie shoe laces; fold a shirt and sewing a button. The fun filled day culminated with a motivational interaction with HRTs whilst a CCT sheet was done. The students were very happy and enthusiastic throughout the programme and showed their keenness towards similar sessions in times to come.
