DPS organized Skill- Based Learning for Class VII

“Free your mind from the weight of books, and let creativity soar on the wings of imagination”
To reduce rote learning and skill based learning, as proposed by NEP 2020, creative activities were conducted to hone some skillsets for the students of Class VII of Delhi Public School.
The day was divided into different sessions. An interactive session was conducted by the Level Coordinator where the students were guided about importance of discipline and timely submission of any work given. The session was followed by a motivational video. The students also had an energetic fun activity conducted by the Counselling Department.
The students showcased their talent brilliantly during the talent show, ‘There’s More To ME’, displaying a wide range of skills including singing, dancing, poetry recitation, hymn singing, musical instrument performances etc. The event was a testament to the diversity and creativity of our student body.
The pool lunch was a delightful experience. While some students brought raw materials from home and prepared dishes, most students some brought home made dishes in class and shared with their peers. The pool lunch was a truly enjoyable and enriching event for everyone involved. During the skill activities session, students learned practical life skills such as tying shoelaces, folding clothes, and sewing buttons. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on practice, students gained valuable knowledge and confidence in these essential tasks. At the end of the session, Students did CCT worksheets of English and Maths. Overall, the first Skill Saturday was a great success.
