In line with Bagless days policy of NEP 2020, the students of classes VI to VIII of Delhi Public School participated in various activities on 22nd and 24th May 2023. This policy is a fun-filled way of introducing skill subjects and vocational education right from the school level and also promotes local artisans and Indian traditional art forms. For the middle school students, the prospect of coming to school without their bags besides learning something new, was enough to make them beam from ear to ear. The children were agog with excitement and full of hopeful expectation to learn diverse art forms. The days were divided into separate sessions on Vegetable Printing Activity, Pottery workshop, Tie and Dye workshop, Finger puppets, table laying- napkin folding, table setting and table etiquettes, Sandwich Making, Learning to sew a button, Quilling, in Bookmark Making activity based on Mandala art.
The highlight of the bagless days was the talent hunt show which provided the children with a platform to showcase their hidden talents. Students and parents both were equally appreciative of the idea of having such fun-filled days away from their books and look forward to the next set of bagless days.
