Team DPS Chandigarh organised a number of activities during the online classes to mark the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of the ‘Father of the Nation’, Mahatma Gandhi. The children were told about Mahatma Gandhi’s invaluable contribution in India’s freedom struggle and how his principles of truth and non-violence are still remembered today through a PowerPoint presentation.
The students from classes Nursery to ll took part in various art and craft activities conducted throughout the week and also sang the bhajan ‘Vaishnav Jan’. The students of classes l and ll also participated in activities like poem recitation and slogan writing. The children were also encouraged to think about his vision of ‘Swachh Bharat’ and working towards making India plastic and pollution free.
The objective of these activities was to promote social responsibility and teach our children about the man who galvanized a whole nation to stand up on its feet and fight for its rights.
