Student Council members of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh for the current academic session were sworn in on Friday, 30th August, 2019, at an impressive Investiture Ceremony, amidst an air of enthusiasm and anticipation. The newly appointed members of the Interact Club were also inducted. The meritorious Class 12 students of Session 2019-20 were also felicitated.
Mr. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Director, School Education was the Chief Guest of the occasion . Mrs Surinder Kaur, President Rotary Club, Chandigarh, Mrs Abha, Secretary, Rotary Club, Chandigarh and other eminent Rotarians graced the occasion.
The auspicious ceremony began with the candle lighting followed by a short cultural programme that included a melodious motivational song presented by the school choir , an insightful street play ‘Sadak Suraksha’ spreading the message of the need to follow traffic rules followed by a mesmerising dance performance .
The newly invested members were pinned by Chief Guest, Mr. Rubinderjit Singh Brar. He congratulated the new council and urged students to take their responsibilities with utmost sincerity, and put their heart and soul into whatever they take up in life if they want to excel. Rotary President Mrs. Surinder Kaur, pinned the Interact Club members .In her address she discussed the projects taken up by the Rotary and appreciated the efforts made by DPS.
The Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan congratulated all the school appointees and stated that leadership is practiced not so much in words, as in attitude and in actions. Therefore, it is essential for us to realize that every action is a reflection of our character, our integrity and our ability. She said that true leadership is in making bridges and there is no place other than school where students can get the best lessons in life skills. The vote of thanks was proposed by the school Head Girl and the President Student Council. The function concluded with the national anthem.
