Playing is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work for children. Students of grade I enjoyed a fun filled activity of buttoning their shirts. They were given a task of buttoning their shirt in a given time frame and it was amazing to see them button their shirts quickly and accurately.
These kind of activities help children to break from the monotonous task of studying and it improves their fine motor task and cognitive skills. Children thoroughly enjoyed the activity and later felt confident of getting dressed up for school on their own!! Way to go kids!
