Delhi Public School organized an interaction with Alan Gibbons, a novelist and educational consultant from U.K. in association with British Council, Chandigarh for its students.
While interacting with the students, Alan Gibbons talked about his journey of life from being a primary school teacher to an award winning novelist.
Alan has written many novels on various subjects like racism, terrorism, drugs and various teenage issues. Alan encouraged children to develop the habit of reading. In fact, he said, “Reading child is a successful child.”
The session was followed by a question hour in which the children asked Alan about his various books, the issue of writer’s block and his years as a primary teacher.
The Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan lauded the efforts of British Council to revive dying reading habits among today’s children. A voracious reader herself, she always encourages her students and staff to go beyond their academic text books and read for pleasure.
