Saluting the nation and its freedom fighters on its 70th Independence Day, the staff and students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh marked the occasion by conducting a special morning assembly. Mrs. Reema Dewan, the school Principal unfurled the flag and paid a tribute to the nation, its history, culture and heroes, highlighting India’s unity in diversity. She urged the children and the teachers to join hands and work for global peace and harmony.
The school choir’s enlivening performance enhanced the patriotic fervour and was appreciated by all. The school Head Girl in her speech requested fellow students to ponder on the question ‘Are we really free and independent?’ She also gave tips on how to contribute positively in this direction.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
