The three day Inter-DPS National Tennis Tournament Boys (Open) 2015, being held from the 18th – 20th May, 2015, was declared open with an exuberant inaugural ceremony which showcased a spectacular field show.
The function was graced by the Guests of Honour – Mr. Parminder Singh, Director – Sports, Panjab University, Mr. Ganjendra Singh, Director – Coaching, CLTA and Wg. Cdr. Mr. Beant Singh, Ex-coach, Davis Cup Series.
Ms. Reema Dewan, Principal extended her warm welcome to the Guests of Honour and the participating teams. She expressed immense pride in hosting this National event which is a big step in pursuit of athletic excellence, sportsmanship and national goodwill, strengthening the bonds between the DPS fraternity. In her inaugural address, she envisaged that such events enhance the development of sports talent.
She administered the oath to the participants and along with the guests, declared the tournament open.
The inaugural matches were played between :-
- DPS Chandigarh and DPS R.K. Puram
- DPS Sonepat and DPS Jodhpur
Twenty four teams from Delhi Public Schools all over India are participating in the tournament. The valedictory function and closing of the meet is scheduled on 20th May, 2015.
