The Interact Club of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh ushered in the newly elected office bearers in an Investiture Ceremony today. Ms. Neena Singh , President, Rotary Club Chandigarh presided over the function as the Chief Guest. The occasion was also graced by immediate Past President, Mr. Arvind Mahajan, Past District Governor, Mr. Madhukar Malhotra and many eminent Rotarians.
True to Indian tradition, the programme began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a cultural presentation which included a soulful rendition by the school choir and an impressive Street Play on the theme ‘Adult Education’. The highlight of the show was the Mewasi dance performed by the young dancers of the school. This was followed by the formal badging ceremony of the office bearers.
Ms. Neena Singh congratulated the new office bearers and praised the efforts of the outgoing members for the success of previous year’s projects. She appreciated the contribution of the school in raising a sum of Rs. 1,25,000 in addition to other material help for the Leh Relief Fund and Rs. 2,23,905 for the Polio Drive. While urging everybody to believe in service and charity, she expressed her confidence in the young Interactors to put in their best efforts leaving behind a rich legacy.
