Delhi Public School Chandigarh wore a festive look as the students and staff celebrated the Festival of Lights, Diwali. A Special Assembly was held on the occasion. The celebrations began with a prayer to the almighty. The significance of the day was brought out in a speech and the students were asked to refrain from bursting crackers. The highlight of the programme was the melodious rendition of ‘Saare Jahan ki Khushio ka lekar, aayee Deepawali” by the school choir.
Various activities and competitions such as Diya Making, Thali Decoration, Toran Making, Diwali Card Making and Lantern Making were organized in the Primary Wing. Students of the Senior Wing made posters on ‘Say No to Crackers’ to generate awareness on the harmful effects of bursting crackers.
