Ms. Reema Dewan, Principal, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh visited UK under the UK Exchange programme with West Kirby Primary School, Wirral, UK. Earlier Mr. Andy Ryan, IT Coordinator from West Kirby School, UK visited Delhi Public School, Chandigarh in March.
This cultural and educational exchange programme which falls under the DFID Global School Partnership Programme aims at building bridges between schools in India and the UK, sharing information and planning projects together.
Ms. Reema Dewan interacted with the head teachers and students of the various institutions like Hilbre High School and West Kirby Grammar School. She enjoyed the presentations and assemblies on various global issues. She also visited John Moores University in Liverpool. During her visit, Ms. Dewan met the Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Alan Jennings. In a meeting with the Mayor and the head teachers, various projects undertaken so far and the proposed future plans were discussed.
The main aim of the visit was to bring the teaching methodologies followed in UK schools to Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. The school also proposes to send other members of the teaching faculty to U.K. Schools in the near future as part of this partnership programme.
