Delhi Public School, Chandigarh ushered in the Eighth Student Council in an Investiture Ceremony, marked with anticipation and promise.
Mr. H.S. Doon, S.P. Traffic and Security, Chandigarh and Mr. P.K. Sharma, DPI (Schools) presided over the function as Guests of Honour.
True to Indian tradition, the programme began with a cultural presentation which included Orchestra, lighting of the lamp, a rendition by the school choir and an energetic Marathi dance.
Mr. H.S. Doon administered the oath to the student council members and urged them to be role models for other students. He complimented the teachers in appreciation of the cultural programme put up by the children. He urged the parents not to give in to the children’s demands blindly to avoid irrevocable damage. While congratulating the prize winners, Mr. P.K. Sharma advised them that there are no short-cuts to success. He also complimented the school on its glorious achievements.
